Welcome to Low-Code Samurai.

My name is Jason McInnes. I’m a former engineer and lawyer who moved into legal operations in 2017. With barely any budget or IT support for my legal operations programs, I’ve turned to Microsoft’s platforms and tools to build out my tech stack and support my department’s and function’s digital transformation.

Now I’m sharing my knowledge and learnings with you in the form of a bi-monthly(-ish) newsletter.

My logo is a Japanese noun, 創意工夫(そうい くふう / sōi kufū)meaning (roughly) "creativity and ingenuity" with a sense and usage of "hands-on creativity to devise practical solutions". It is used across engineering, product, and operations when people tinker, iterate, and solve, which I think perfectly describes the skills needed by legal operations professionals.

I blog on various topics related to Microsoft's productivity and low-code/no-code tools and how they can be used to solve legal department challenges, make legal and legal operations professionals more efficient and productive, and transform a legal departments business processes with a little technology and a lot of grit.
